Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. seeks a Sr. Tech, Engineering to support the manufacturing site, encompassing clean utilities, facilities equipment, quality labs, and a warehouse.

You will install, operate, maintain and troubleshoot utility and clean utility equipment such as boilers, chillers, HVAC, clean steam, and WFI. Develop SOPs and preventive maintenance plans as requested, perform SAP transactions and validation testing, and assist with root cause investigations and change control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four years of plant maintenance experience with knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and/or multi-stage refrigeration systems.
• Familiarity with GMP manufacturing regulatory requirements.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and access elevated equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and control systems (PLCs, CMMS).
• Strong maintenance, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Day to Night rotating shift with on-call and weekend overtime.

Responsibilities

• Support installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of utility and clean utility equipment (boilers, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC, WFI).
• Develop SOPs and preventive maintenance plans as requested.
• Perform SAP transactions, validation testing support, and change control activities.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, automation, and other groups to resolve issues.
