Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a decisive software engineering leader to head a BSP software team in defense products. You will guide cost, schedule, and technical performance while coordinating with hardware, FPGA, and program management for military systems.

The role requires a top-tier background in embedded software, EV management, and cross-functional leadership. Location can be Cedar Rapids or El Segundo, with Cedar Rapids preferred.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 10+ years of experience; or an advanced degree with 7+ years.
• Active SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional collaboration in a technical environment.
• Experience in program execution, bidding, planning, EVM, and risk management.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team, including hiring and mentoring.
• Collaborate with engineers, program managers, and shared services to deliver BSP software.
• Drive product strategy and engineering excellence across the software lifecycle.
• Support business growth through technical input in pursuit and proposals.
• Balance resources and monitor program performance using EV management.
