Job summary

Proterra is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer for their team in Greer, SC. In this role, you will be responsible for developing battery pack power electronics controls and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in BMS controls modeling/design, proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, and understanding of Lithium-ion chemistry. Additional skills in problem-solving and project management will be advantageous. This is an onsite role with limited travel requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's with 5+ years or Master’s with 3+ years of industry experience in BMS controls modeling/design.
• Strong understanding of Lithium-ion chemistry and BMS communication protocols.
• Experience in battery cell testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain high quality cell control algorithms.
• Support integration of code into BMS controls.
• Develop technical project plans and schedules.
