Job summary

Proterra is looking for an Embedded Systems Software Engineer to join the Battery Management Systems (BMS) team in Greer, SC. This role focuses on enhancing BMS software reliability through diagnostics, calibration, and field issue resolution.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with experience in embedded software development, and a strong familiarity with CAN and UDS protocols.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of industry experience in embedded software development, automotive controls, or battery/EV systems.
• Proficiency with Vector toolchain including CANalyzer and CANape.
• Experience analyzing diagnostic features and fault memory validation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for current production BMS software.
• Implement and calibrate BMS diagnostic features.
• Analyze field data and identify software-related failure modes.
