Job summary

Horizon3.ai is seeking a Senior Engineer on the BizApps team to bridge operations and automation. You’ll own end-to-end integrations using Jira/JSM/Confluence, Workato, and AWS tooling, partnering with multiple teams to turn requirements into scalable solutions.

As an individual contributor, you’ll lead discovery, design secure-by-design workflows, enforce least privilege, and mentor IT and AI admins while driving reliable delivery and adoption of our automation platform.

Qualifications

• Experience owning solutions from requirements through production support.
• Hands-on experience building integrations on an iPaaS (Workato preferred).
• Knowledge of APIs, webhooks, REST and event-driven patterns.
• Experience engineering workflows in Jira, JSM, and Confluence.
• Experience gathering requirements from non-technical teams.
• Understanding RBAC and data privacy in integrations.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Ability to explain design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery with stakeholders to define problems and success.
• Translate pain points into scoped statements and recommend approaches.
• Design solutions using human-centered, API-first, and secure-by-design principles.
• Own end-to-end solutions: design, build, test, release, monitor, support, retire.
• Build and maintain Workato recipes and connectors with error handling.
• Develop custom automation tooling and AWS middleware.
• Design and evolve Jira/JSM/Confluence workflows and configurations.
• Architect and evolve Workato platform with frameworks and connectors.
• Enforce least-privilege access with RBAC and service accounts.
• Mentor IT Admins and AI Admins toward engineering scope.
• Apply Glean, Rovo, Claude, Gemini, Bedrock capabilities to automation needs.
• Write runbooks and handoff materials for support teams.
• Report delivery velocity and integration reliability to stakeholders.
• Demonstrate integrity and customer satisfaction.
