Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Ridgefield, CT seeks an innovative Scientist IV, Biotherapeutics Purification to advance purification and analytics for therapeutic proteins.

You will design and execute purification workflows, analyze production data, and liaise with Biotherapeutics Discovery teams to drive quality and insight. A strong background in chromatography and analytical methods, plus independent initiative, is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 6+ years in related field or Bachelor's with 10+ years.
• Extensive experience with protein purification (affinity, AEX/CEX, MMC, HIC).
• Experience with protein analytics (SDS-PAGE, CGE, U/HPLC, DLS).
• Knowledge of protein expression is preferred.
• Experience with data analysis software and programming (MATLAB, Python, SQL, Java).
• Familiarity with lab automation is preferred.
• Strong grasp of protein biochemistry and stability attributes.
• Creative problem solving and ability to work independently or in teams.
• Excellent record-keeping, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and perform purification of biotherapeutic proteins using chromatography.
• Analyze protein purity, stability, and quality using standard analytical methods.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve productivity, quality of purification processes.
• Perform stage-appropriate purification assessments and present findings.
• Develop analytical methodologies and evaluate new technologies for team capabilities.
• Provide protein biochemistry and purification support to Biotherapeutics Discovery scientists.
