Job summary

You will advise on freedom‑to‑operate, conduct due diligence, and manage global IP matters, collaborating with scientists and outside counsel to shape IP strategy for cell and gene therapy platforms.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in biological sciences; advanced degrees preferred.
• Admission to practice before the USPTO; U.S. law degree (J.D.).
• 8+ years of patent attorney experience in life sciences; pharma/biotech setting.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and prosecuting patent portfolios; work with outside counsel.
• Support IP due diligence, freedom-to-operate, and risk analyses.
• Prosecute US and foreign patent applications; manage post‑grant matters.
• Negotiate IP provisions in commercial, research, and collaboration agreements.
• Advise on IP strategy and collaborate with global Legend teams.
