Job summary

Legend Biotech is seeking a Patent Counsel/Senior Patent Counsel to lead strategic IP procurement and portfolio management. The role involves drafting and prosecuting patents, advising on IP strategy, and collaborating with outside counsel and business teams across global biotech initiatives.

The position supports hybrid work (3 days/week) with travel between Bridgewater, NJ, and Philadelphia, PA, and Somerset, NJ R&D sites.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of patent attorney experience in life sciences prosecution.
• Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications for pharma/biotech clients.
• Admission to USPTO and good standing in at least one US state.
• Strong communication and strategic IP partnership skills.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and prosecuting global patent portfolios, including US and foreign jurisdictions.
• Support due diligence, freedom-to-operate analyses, and risk assessments.
• Negotiate IP provisions in collaborations, licenses, and transactions.
• Collaborate with business leaders, outside counsel, and internal teams.
