Legend Biotech USA is seeking a Patent Counsel/Senior Patent Counsel for the Legal team, based in Philadelphia, PA or Somerset, NJ. The role focuses on large molecule IP strategy, patent drafting and prosecution, rapid collaboration with business partners, and global portfolio management.

Ideal candidates have USPTO admission, 8+ years in life sciences patent work, and experience in cell/gene therapy. This hybrid role requires strong communication and independent work across global teams.

Qualifications

• J.D. from a US law school and USPTO bar admission.
• 8+ years in life sciences patent prosecution in pharma/biotech.
• Experience with large molecule biologics; cell/gene therapy a plus.
• Strong communication and risk assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and prosecuting patent portfolios; coordinating with outside counsel.
• Support IP-focused due diligence and risk assessment for transactions.
• Manage global patent prosecution across US and foreign jurisdictions.
• Provide guidance on IP strategy and freedom-to-operate analyses.
