Job summary

Ripple Effect seeks a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to support NIH/NLM programs at the Bethesda, MD campus. You will lead full lifecycle software development across Linux, Windows, MacOS, Android, and web platforms, delivering secure, scalable biomedical applications.

With 15+ years of experience, you will mentor teams, apply Agile/DevSecOps practices, and ensure compliance with FISMA, FedRAMP, and Section 508.

Qualifications

• Experience leading full lifecycle software development.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, R, and Bash.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with development tools and environments including Jupyter Notebooks, GitHub, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Must be able and willing to work onsite multiple days per week in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design complex systems with cross-platform software.
• Lead full SDLC using Agile/DevSecOps practices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support biomedical research.
• Refactor for performance and usability improvements.
• Ensure security, accessibility, and compliance including 508 and FedRAMP.
• Produce thorough documentation and knowledge sharing.
