Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to provide advanced maintenance and service on biomedical and clinical data/network systems. You will perform PM, calibrations, testing, and troubleshooting across a range of medical devices and systems.

Responsibilities include leading evaluations, installations, vendor coordination, and training fellow technicians while ensuring patient safety and uptime across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in electronics/biomedical fields.
• Progressive experience may substitute for degree.
• Proficient in electronic/electromechanical repairs and PM.
• Ability to respond to specialized service calls (ultrasound, fluoroscopy).
• Experience with device recordkeeping and maintenance databases.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, installs, inspects, and calibrates biomedical equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure compliance and uptime.
• Develop and implement QA testing procedures for equipment.
• Review incident reports and safeguard patient safety.
• Lead new equipment evaluations, acquisitions, and installs.
• Coordinate quotes and bids for capital purchases.
• Direct external vendors and ensure quality of service.
• Provide in-service training to colleagues.
• Maintain device control records and documentation.
