Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a Biomedical Technician II to provide advanced maintenance and support for biomedical and clinical data systems in our Philadelphia facilities. You will perform preventive maintenance, calibration, testing, and repairs to ensure equipment reliability and patient safety.

The role requires an electronics/biomedical engineering background, hands-on troubleshooting, and the ability to work with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in electronics, biomedical engineering, or related field, or high school diploma with 2 years of relevant experience.
1 year progressive experience in electronic/electromechanical repairs on biomedical equipment.
Ability to perform component level repairs at least 35% of the time.
Proficiency in repair and preventive maintenance of anesthesia machines, gas analyzers, blood cell savers, and diagnostic ultrasound.

Responsibilities

Completes the preventive maintenance workload to achieve high PM compliance.
Performs safety checks, repairs, and installations of biomedical and communications equipment.
Identifies and obtains supplies to service equipment at lowest cost.
Maintains supporting technical literature and documents for the biomedical program.
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and quality control standards.
Provides in-service and training on biomedical equipment and electrical safety.
