Job summary

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Bioinformatician II to partner with researchers from the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences on genomic analyses of structural variation, epigenetics, and gene expression.

You will lead projects, deliver bioinformatics services for biomedical data generated by cutting-edge genomic technologies, and collaborate with wet-lab biologists to drive discoveries in human disease.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of genetics and/or statistical analysis software and online resources.
• Ph.D. in a related field preferred; Master's degree acceptable with strong computational background.
• Experience handling large biological datasets and performing bioinformatics analyses.

Responsibilities

• Develops and may lead a variety of bioinformatics analysis projects, including development of Varimpact.
• Writes custom scripts for analysis of genomic data from high-throughput techniques.
• Manages databases, conducts statistical and genomic analyses, and contributes to manuscripts/presentations.
• Collaborates with wet-lab biologists and analyzes data from microarrays and high-throughput sequencing.
• Performs quality control and genomic data analysis, experimental design, and statistics.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
