Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a genetic epidemiologist/statistical geneticist to join the Artificial Intelligence and Human Health Department as Bioinformatician III. The role involves leading analyses of large-scale genomic, proteomic, multi-omics, and longitudinal clinical data using advanced statistical genetics and AI approaches.

You will design GWAS, rare variant analyses, PRS, and integrative genomics, while developing reproducible pipelines and mentoring trainees.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in a biological, computational, or statistical field.
• Six years minimum experience in genetics or statistics analyses.
• Experience with genetics software and online resources.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale genetic analyses, including QC pipelines and GWAS.
• Develop reproducible pipelines for sequencing, association testing, and multi-omics integration.
• Integrate multi-omics with clinical data to identify disease mechanisms and targets.
• Conduct longitudinal analyses of clinical and genomic data and modeling.
• Apply machine learning and AI approaches to large-scale datasets for discovery.
• Lead independent research projects from conception to publication.
• Contribute to study design, grants, manuscripts, and scientific reporting.
• Mentor trainees and promote best practices in data management and reproducibility.
• Collaborate with investigators across disciplines.
