Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System seeks a highly motivated genetic epidemiologist/statistical geneticist to join the Artificial Intelligence and Human Health Department as Bioinformatician III.

You will lead analyses of large-scale genomic, proteomic, multi-omics, and longitudinal clinical datasets, applying statistical genetics, bioinformatics, ML, and AI to uncover disease mechanisms and drive precision medicine.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Biological Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computer Sciences, Statistics or related field; PhD preferred.
• Six years minimum experience required.
• Working experience with genetics or statistics analysis software and online resources.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale genetic analyses, including QC pipelines, GWAS, rare variant analyses, PRS construction, fine-mapping, proteomics, and integrative genomics.
• Develop reproducible computational pipelines for sequencing, association testing, multi-omics integration, and downstream interpretation.
• Integrate multi-omics and clinical data to identify disease mechanisms and prioritize therapeutic targets.
• Conduct longitudinal analyses of clinical and genomic data, including time-to-event analyses and trajectory modeling.
• Apply machine learning and LLM-based approaches to large-scale data for gene discovery and precision medicine research.
• Lead independent research projects and contribute to studies from conception to publication.
• Contribute to study design, grants, manuscripts, and scientific reporting.
• Mentor trainees and junior analysts; establish best practices for reproducibility and workflows.
• Collaborate with investigators, clinicians, and computational scientists across disciplines.
