Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead analysis of large-scale molecular datasets in functional genomics, with emphasis on single-cell and multi-omic technologies. The role requires deep expertise in single-cell transcriptomics and epigenomics, experience handling large datasets, and strong programming skills.

Qualifications

• Ph.D in sciences or related field with strong research impact.
• Minimum five years of scientific investigation experience.
• Proven peer-reviewed publications or major research contributions.
• Experience securing external grant funding is desirable.
• Strong experience analyzing bulk and single-cell RNA-seq and epigenomics.
• Proficiency in R and common single-cell analysis frameworks.
• Experience with large-scale genomic datasets and HPC environments.
• Familiarity with cloud-based workflows and reproducible pipelines.
• Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis of single-cell RNA-seq and multiome datasets (RNA/ATAC).
• Perform integrative analysis across modalities (bulk RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, DNA methylation).
• Develop processing pipelines for novel single-cell multi-omic tech.
• Apply statistical modeling and ML to identify cellular states and regulatory programs.
• Design and implement integrative multi-omic analyses across cohorts and systems.
• Present findings internally and contribute to publications and grants.
• Stay current with emerging methods in single-cell and AI-driven genomics.
