Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree required; MS or doctoral degree in Clinical Informatics preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Significant expertise with programming and statistical software experience in R, Python, SQL
  • Familiarity with modern database design and operation
  • Familiarity with clinical informatics frameworks and EHR data types and ontologies (ICD-9/10, LOINC, RxNorm, UMLS, CPT codes)
  • Familiarity with EPIC EHR systems (Clarity, Caboodle) is a strong advantage
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Enable high-impact research: access, interpret, and analyze large-scale clinical/genomic datasets.
  • Build and optimize data infrastructure: maintain centralized data resources, documentation, and metadata systems.
  • Drive advanced phenotyping: develop phenotyping algorithms, harmonize clinical ontologies.
  • Support genomic analyses: quality control and preparation for GWAS analyses.
  • Lead and coordinate collaborations: liaise across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Shape research strategy and execution: contribute to study design, data extraction, statistics, and manuscripts.
  • Strengthen operational excellence: onboarding, contracting, SOPs, and meeting facilitation.
  • Innovate with emerging technologies: evaluate AI/LLM-based tools for phenotyping and analysis.
  • Amplify scientific impact: contribute to grants, presentations, and dissemination.
