Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Structural Designer to join the Energy and Resources Design team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects within the energy sector, providing high-quality structural design across North America and worldwide.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor designers, and grow technically as a key contributor on complex studies through detailed engineering and construction support.

Qualifications

• 13 to 20 years of experience in engineering consulting or the construction industry.
• At least 13 years of experience in industrial consulting or an industrial environment.
• Graduate of Technical or College Course in Design/Drafting, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply Stantec Safety Culture and Health and Safety rules on projects.
• Perform modeling, drafting, checking and structural design tasks for a wide variety of projects.
• Lead a team of designers to complete deliverables on budget and schedule.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to produce quality designs with appropriate detail.
• Mentor and coach designers for professional development.
• Conduct quality assurance on projects per Stantec guidelines.
• Attend project coordination meetings with internal teams/clients.
• Travel to local project sites as needed.
