Job summary

Prime Electric is seeking an experienced BIM/Electrical Detailer to lead the creation and coordination of electrical installations on large commercial projects. You will work from architectural and structural drawings to develop fully coordinated electrical models using three-dimensional BIM tools.

The role requires a four-year degree, 7–10 years of experience, and strong proficiency in Revit and related Autodesk tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; 7–10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in Revit is required.
• Experience supervising and/or directing large project commercial electrical installation is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, installations and code requirements pertaining to electrical detailing.
• Proficiency with multi-discipline plan reading, specifications and submittals, Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Dynamo, eVolve Electrical, Revit family creation, AutoCAD, Bluebeam.
• Familiarity with LOD and associated specifications preferred.
• Ability to maintain clean Revit backgrounds from various disciplines.
• Ability to create installations, Trimble and prefabrication drawings for field installations.
• Ability to maintain document control, updating of changes and as-built conditions throughout the project.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with file management, organization and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with construction teams to create installation drawings and work packets for prefabrication from the coordinated model for use in field installation.
• Attend and coordinate BIM/clash detection meetings.
• Independently manage multiple jobs.
• Attend various job-related meetings.
• Communicate job/project issues with BIM Project Management.
• Coordinate and generate concrete slab embeds layout, overhead and vertical conduit routing, electrical room layout, underground ductbanks drawings and light fixture layout for construction teams.
• Produce a clash-free, constructible model for a successful installation.
• Coordinate electrical room layouts, feeder routing and equipment clearances per NEC.
• Create clash tests and reports using Navisworks to identify issues with constructability.
• Post weekly model updates for coordination meetings.
