Job summary

Prime Electric is seeking an experienced BIM Electrical Lead to coordinate installation drawings from 3D models, attend clash-detection meetings, and manage multiple projects onsite in San Jose. You will optimize electrical room layouts, feeder routing, and equipment clearances per NEC, while producing clash-free Navisworks models for construction teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7–10 years of experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Dynamo,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 7–10 years related experience or equivalent combination
Experience supervising large commercial electrical installations preferred
Knowledge of electrical systems, NEC requirements, and detailing

Responsibilities

Collaborate with construction teams to create installation drawings and work packets from the 3D model
Attend and coordinate BIM/clash detection meetings
Manage multiple projects independently
Communicate issues with BIM Project Management and senior leads
Produce constructible, clash-free Navisworks models for field installation
Coordinate electrical room layouts, feeder routing and equipment clearances per NEC
Create clash tests/reports and post weekly model updates
Maintain CAD/Revit backgrounds and document control throughout projects
Assist onsite with groups and project management as needed
