Job summary

Chartiers Center in Bridgeville, PA, seeks a Senior Billing Specialist responsible for posting payments, verifying insurance eligibility, resolving denials, and month-end reconciliation. The role starts onsite during probation and transitions to a hybrid schedule after successful probation.

You will process billing for Medical Assistance, Medicare, and commercial carriers, submit claims electronically or on paper when needed, maintain billing records, and collaborate with payers to improve

Qualifications

• Medical Billing Certificate with 1–2 years Billing experience OR High School Diploma with 3 years Billing experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits on a daily basis.
• Accurately post insurance and client payments in a timely manner.
• Investigate, resolve, and follow up on claim denials, rejections, and payment discrepancies.
• Manage and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely reimbursement and collection of outstanding balances.
• Perform month-end reconciliation, balancing, and closing activities.
• Process billing for payers including Medical Assistance, Medicare, commercial carriers, and other funding sources.
• Submit claims electronically and prepare paper claims when required.
• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation per agency, payer, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal staff and external payers to resolve billing issues and improve reimbursement outcomes.

Chartiers Center is a private, non-profit corporation funded by state, county, third party insurances and private funds. Services include intake, referral, outpatient therapy, psychiatric assessment, service coordination, substance abuse treatment, training and social rehabilitative services, crisis intervention, partial hospitalization, community outreach, day, and recreational services for adults with intellectual disabilities, homeless outreach, and housing program.As a Senior Billing Specialist with Chartiers Center, you would be responsible for all types of insurance and client payment procession including posting, denial management, insurance eligibility verification and month end reconciliation.Please note that this not a remote position. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite during the probationary period. Following successful completion of probation, the role will transition to a hybrid work arrangement.
