Job summary

Miller & Chevalier seeks a Billing Manager to lead the accounting team's billing function and supervise two Billing Coordinators. The role ensures adherence to firm billing policies and regular interaction with billing attorneys and assistants.

Responsibilities include preparing pre-bills, closing monthly periods, handling cash receipts, maintaining rate records, and generating weekly/monthly metrics. Strong supervisory and Excel skills required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field required; equivalent combination acceptable.
• Five or more years supervisory experience in client billing and e-billing.
• Proven ability to implement changes with diverse teams.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pre-bills and revise bills with edits, write-offs and adjustments; ensure accurate and timely billing and e-billing.
• Responsible for monthly system closing and balancing.
• Process cash receipts and wire transfers.
• Review and approve write-offs per firm policy.
• Maintain billing rate records and coordinate changes with Billing Coordinators; confirm valid rates with partners.
• Create and distribute weekly/monthly billing metrics and reports; assist with ad hoc reports.
• Responsible for the full billing cycle for assigned partners with complex billing.
• Identify and suggest improvements to existing processes; implement approved changes.
• Participate in orientation for new hires.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.
