Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Big Data Solutions Architect to work on client engagements within our Professional Services team. You will design and implement scalable data architectures using the Databricks platform, covering data engineering, data science, and cloud integration to deliver value from client data.

You will guide end-to-end projects, coordinate with engagement managers, and provide expert technical leadership.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics.
• Proficient in Python or Scala.
• Working knowledge of two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps.
• Design and deployment of performant end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience with technical project delivery - managing scope and timelines.
• Strong documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience working with clients and managing conflicts.
• Willingness to travel 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Design and build reference architectures and production-ready use cases for customer environments.
• Collaborate with engagement managers to scope professional services work with input from the customer.
• Guide strategic customers through end-to-end big data projects including migrations and deployments.
• Consult on architecture and design; bootstrap or implement customer projects to enable adoption of Databricks solutions.
• Provide escalated support for customer operational issues.
• Coordinate with the Databricks technical team to ensure delivery of engagement components.
• Offer feedback to engineering and support teams to resolve issues rapidly.
