Job summary

ZipRecruiter, Inc. is seeking a Senior BI Engineer on our Business Intelligence team to design data systems, models, and AI-powered tooling that scale decision making. You’ll collaborate with RevOps, Decision Science, Product, and Engineering to process billions of records daily using Spark, Databricks, and Kubernetes.

You’ll own data models, promote engineering rigor with testing and CI/CD, and mentor teammates to raise the technical bar across the data stack.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Data Engineer, analytics/BI Engineer, or senior IC.
• Advanced SQL and data modeling, schema design, and query optimization.
• Strong data warehouse architecture knowledge.
• Hands-on software engineering practices: Git, CI/CD, code review, automated testing, monitoring.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
• Excellent cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Architect data systems that serve RevOps, Decision Science, product, and engineering teams.
• Extend and shape internal AI platforms for analytics.
• Enforce engineering rigor: testing, CI/CD, version control, observability.
• Build and own robust data models and datasets.
• Collaborate with product engineering to embed analytics in pipelines.
• Mentor teammates and raise the technical bar across the data stack.
