Job summary

ZipRecruiter, a leading online employment marketplace, seeks a Senior BI Engineer to design data systems and AI-powered tooling that scale decision-making across RevOps, Decision Science, Product, and Engineering. You’ll work with Spark, Databricks, and Kubernetes to process billions of records daily.

You will translate cross-domain business questions into robust data sets and models, mentor teammates, and help set engineering standards that scale beyond a single project.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Data Engineer, analytics/BI Engineer or in a similar senior IC role.
• Advanced SQL and deep proficiency in data modeling, schema design, and query optimization.
• Strong grasp of data warehouse architecture and modern modeling methodologies.
• Hands-on experience applying software engineering practices to data work: Git, CI/CD, code review, automated testing, monitoring.
• Proficiency with cloud-based data platforms (Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or similar).
• Strong communicator who is comfortable working across both business stakeholders and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design data systems, models, and AI-powered tooling at scale.
• Partner with RevOps, Decision Science, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Work with Spark, Databricks, and Kubernetes to process billions of records daily.
• Architect data solutions across business and engineering stakeholders.
• Extend and shape our internal AI platform for analytics workflows.
• Mentor teammates and raise the technical bar.
