Job summary

The AES Corporation in Salt Lake City is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer for systems integration of BESS products. You will own end-to-end engineering, define system requirements, and coordinate multiple subsystems to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires 5–7 years in BESS or complex electromechanical development, a BS in engineering, and travel up to 25%. Master’s degree and utility-scale deployment experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EE/Mech/Systems or related field.
• 5–7 years in BESS or complex electromechanical system development and integration.
• Experience with electrical systems, energy storage, controls, and power electronics.
• Experience across multiple OEMs and integrators.
• Proven ability to support fielded systems and post-installation troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with UL 9540 / 9540A and applicable electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end systems engineering for BESS products from requirements through deployment.
• Develop and maintain system-level requirements, ICDs, specs, and compliance matrices.
• Integrate subsystems including energy storage, PCS, safety, controls, and communications.
• Review electrical/controls designs, schematics, BOMs, and integration docs.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in BESS integration.
• Serve as technical authority for BESS system architecture in utility-scale projects.
• Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and system-level issues on deployed assets.
