Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer - Systems Integration to lead end-to-end integration of BESS subsystems across utility-scale projects, ensuring safe, reliable operation.

You will develop system-level requirements, ICDs, and verification plans; review electrical designs, support prototype builds, and mentor junior engineers while traveling up to 25% of the time. This role requires strong experience with UL 9540/9540A and power electronics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Systems Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years in BESS or complex electromechanical system development.
• Experience with UL 9540 / 9540A and relevant electrical codes.
• Experience across multiple OEMs and integrators.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end systems engineering for BESS products from requirements definition through deployment and operation.
• Develop and maintain system-level requirements, interface control documents (ICDs), specifications, and compliance matrices.
• Integrate multiple subsystems including energy storage, PCS, safety, controls, and communications.
• Review and approve BESS electrical and controls designs, including schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and integration documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of BESS integration practices.
