Job summary

Avangrid Power, based in Boston, seeks a Senior Supply Chain Manager to oversee contracting for grid-scale BESS projects and related agreements. You will drive strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract management to ensure timely, risk-balanced delivery.

The role requires extensive experience with BESS, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to coordinate across Engineering, Legal, Procurement, and Project Delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, Law, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in the electrical/power systems industry, including grid, power electronics, or utility‑scale equipment.
• 10+ years of experience specific to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and grid-scale energy storage, including direct engagement with global OEMs and EPCs.
• Demonstrated success negotiating and closing large-scale commercial contracts (MSAs, EPC agreements, long-term supply agreements) with global equipment manufacturers.
• Proven track record of full‑cycle deal closure by leading contract terms negotiation to completion.
• Experience coordinating cross-functionally across Engineering, Legal, Procurement, and Project Delivery on capital-intensive infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for the contracts function supporting grid-scale BESS project development and delivery.
• Establish and enforce enterprise contracting governance with clear roles and decision rights.
• Improve Equipment Supply and BESS contracting strategy with cross-functional alignment.
• Own end-to-end negotiation and closure of Equipment Supply agreements and MSAs for grid-scale BESS equipment.
• Lead high-stakes contract negotiations from initial terms through final execution.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with Legal, Engineering, and Risk to resolve contractual issues.
• Set and govern contracting frameworks, templates, and negotiation playbooks.
• Restructure or reprioritize contract terms in response to project changes.
• Lead escalation and resolution of contractual risks affecting milestones.
