Job summary

ON.energy is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to lead end-to-end engineering for battery energy storage systems in the US. You will coordinate with internal teams and customers to ensure milestones are met and systems are designed to code-compliance standards.

Responsibilities include developing diagrams, equipment specifications, and performing system studies with ETAP/SKM, while traveling to project sites as needed up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of project engineering experience, preferably in BESS, electrical infrastructure, or data centers.
• Familiarity with energy storage systems and high-voltage infrastructure.
• Strong ability to read electrical drawings and understand system design.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end engineering execution of BESS projects from development to commissioning.
• Coordinate with internal teams to meet project milestones.
• Collaborate with customers, EPCs, OEMs on BESS integration with electrical infrastructure.
• Review and validate electrical, civil, and mechanical designs and vendor submittals.
• Develop single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams for battery storage systems.
• Prepare specifications, data sheets, and requisitions for power conversion equipment.
• Develop short circuit, load flow, and arc flash studies using ETAP.
• Assist in project scheduling, procurement, and technical documentation.
• Conduct site walks and support FAT/SAT activities.
