Job summary

SB Energy is seeking a Sr. Energy Storage Engineer to lead electrical design, technical reviews, and system integration for utility-scale BESS projects. You will drive design optimization, coordinate with EPCs, utilities, and AHJs, and ensure compliance with IEEE/NEC/NFPA standards.

The role requires extensive experience in lithium-ion storage, power systems design, and project lifecycle management, with travel up to 15%. A strong background in AutoCAD and engineering software is essential.

Qualifications

Electrical power systems degree with emphasis on utility-scale storage.
Experience delivering projects through lifecycle: engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation.
Strong knowledge of interconnection, permitting, and utility coordination.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain standards, specifications, and design requirements for energy storage systems.
Lead technical reviews of utility-scale BESS projects from development through handover.
Review EPC deliverables and drive design optimization for cost, schedule and reliability.
Develop and review electrical designs, site layouts, and single-line diagrams.
