Job summary

Acrisure is seeking a Senior Benefits Specialist to act as a subject matter expert on employee benefits. You will partner with Payroll, HRIS, Legal, and external vendors to resolve escalated issues, support audits, test system configurations in Workday, and drive process improvements.

You will lead open enrollment planning and help ensure regulatory compliance across ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and IRS Section 125 rules.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in employee benefits administration.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Strong understanding of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and IRS Section 125 regulations.
• Advanced knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday preferred), including configuration testing and reporting.
• Proven critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting or managing annual open enrollment cycles.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, leadership, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Resolve escalated employee benefit issues with accuracy and professionalism.
• Lead audits of internal and vendor benefit data for compliance and data integrity.
• Plan and execute annual open enrollment including system testing and communications.
• Serve as Workday benefits SME, testing new configurations.
• Collaborate with HRIS, Payroll, and vendors to troubleshoot and improve workflows.
• Analyze benefit trends and compliance metrics to drive improvements.
• Develop training materials and guidance for Benefits Specialists.
• Maintain knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and IRS Section 125 rules.
