Job summary

Acrisure, LLC in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Senior Benefits Specialist to serve as a benefits subject matter expert, resolve escalated issues, lead plan audits, and support open enrollment. You will partner with Payroll, HRIS, Legal, and vendors to ensure compliance and effective benefits delivery.

The role requires 3–5 years in benefits administration, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and strong knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and IRS 125 rules, plus advanced Workday configuration

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in employee benefits administration.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Strong knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and IRS Section 125.
• Advanced knowledge of Workday, including configuration testing and reporting.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate with employees and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Resolve escalated employee benefit issues with accuracy and professionalism.
• Lead audits of internal and vendor benefit data for compliance and integrity.
• Plan and execute annual open enrollment, including system testing and communications.
• Serve as a Workday benefits SME for testing and configuration changes.
• Collaborate with HRIS, Payroll, and vendors to troubleshoot issues and improve workflows.
• Analyze benefit trends, utilization data, and compliance metrics to drive improvements.
• Develop training materials and job aids for Benefits Specialists.
• Maintain expert knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and IRS 125 rules.
