Job summary

Oliver James Group is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager for its Energy & Infrastructure practice in New York, NY, on-site. You will drive growth by shaping BD strategy, leading pitches, and coordinating cross-functional campaigns with marketing, client intelligence, and partners.

You will mentor a BD Coordinator, collaborate with senior partners, and manage submissions, rankings, and industry events to maintain a high-visibility profile in a marquee client base.

Qualifications

• Law firm or professional services BD/marketing experience.
• Strong writing, project management, and relationship-building skills.
• Credibility with senior partners and ability to work independently across a global team.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.
• Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute BD and marketing strategy for the group, from prospect identification through pitch and proposal.
• Lead pitches, RFPs, and proposals, and keep the group's marketing materials sharp and current.
• Develop thought leadership and communications that position the group in the market.
• Manage award and ranking submissions, sponsorships, and industry events.
• Support the integration and onboarding of lateral partners.
• Partner with business services teams to deliver integrated campaigns.
• Supervise and develop a Business Development Coordinator.
