Job summary

Joby Aviation is seeking a Senior/Staff Test Engineer to lead battery system integration testing for the ESDS, ensuring packs, BMS, power distribution, conversion, and thermal management work together as a flight-critical energy storage system.

You will coordinate test articles, contribute to QTPs, perform data analysis, and support FAA qualification testing in an aircraft-representative lab, collaborating with design engineers and certification engineers.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical/Mechanical or related engineering; 8+ years testing HV systems.
• Experience with battery/vehicle-level integration testing across packs, BMS, power electronics, and thermal management.
• Exposure to environmental stress testing and high-voltage safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level verification and validation testing of ESDS in aircraft-representative labs.
• Coordinate test articles, configurations, and test procedures across subsystems.
• Analyze test data and perform root-cause investigations with design teams.
• Prepare Qualification Test Plans and Procedures and support FAA qualification testing.
