Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to own integration of battery products across programs. You will define interfaces, size systems, and drive reuse of proven off-the-shelf solutions while shaping a future battery roadmap used across spaceflight programs.

You will engage with cross-functional teams, analyze loads, and guide decisions to balance performance, safety, and cost. Expect travel to remote sites for integration and training.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of direct experience in battery, power system, or electrical systems integration engineering.
• Experience sizing battery systems from requirements, including load profile analysis.
• Knowledge of lithium-ion cell selection, chemistry trades, and safety considerations.
• Experience owning interfaces and interface control documentation between subsystems.
• Ability to influence decisions in cross-program or customer-facing roles.
• Strong written and verbal technical communication; highly organized.
• Willingness to travel to remote sites for integration and training.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical interface between the battery organization and all programs.
• Define and negotiate battery and interface requirements across programs.
• Develop and manage standard ICDs for electrical, mechanical, and thermal interfaces.
• Perform battery sizing and trade studies including energy and power margins.
• Recommend cell chemistry and technology with clear trade explanations.
• Promote off-the-shelf battery products and reduce custom development.
• Own the battery product roadmap and prioritize with design, test, and manufacturing teams.
• Create datasheets, guides, ICDs, sizing tools, and reference designs.
• Manage exceptions and deviations when off-the-shelf fits poorly.
• Support programs through vehicle integration, testing, and operations.
