Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced engineer to own the integration of battery products into programs across the company. You will translate program needs into battery and interface requirements, size and select solutions, and drive reuse of qualified products to reduce cost and risk.

You will create and maintain artifacts such as datasheets, selection guides, ICDs, sizing tools, and reference designs, while shaping a forward-looking battery product roadmap with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of direct experience in battery, power system, or electrical systems integration engineering.
• Experience sizing battery systems from application requirements, including load profile analysis and energy and power margin assessment.
• Strong knowledge of lithium-ion cell selection, chemistry trades, performance and aging behavior, and safety considerations.
• Experience owning interfaces and interface control documentation between a component or subsystem and a larger vehicle or system.
• Experience in cross-program, applications, or customer-facing technical roles influencing decisions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical interface between the battery organization and all Blue Origin programs.
• Elicit, define, and negotiate battery and interface requirements with programs.
• Own the interfaces: develop and manage standard ICDs and drive closure of interface issues.
