Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design, implement, and verify battery management system software for flight-ready spaceflight systems. You will read hardware datasheets, work with HW/SW teams, and develop BSPs and drivers for new hardware while ensuring safety and reliability.

You will collaborate with software, hardware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams, bringing up HW accelerators, scripting, and Linux-based development across multiple embedded projects.

Qualifications

• BS in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical field
• 6+ years of experience in the field above
• 2+ years of experience developing battery management systems
• Embedded software design and development in C/C++/Rust with Linux scripting
• Debugging with cross HW/SW tools (GDB, XSDB, GRMON, Logic Analyzer, Wireshark) and reading Assembly

Responsibilities

• Develop Board Support Package software for new hardware, including driver development
• Bare-metal or OS-level programming for initialization, control, and data processing
• Work with systems engineers to partition HW/SW implementations
• Benchmark analysis and benchmarking code for hardware performance
• Bring up HW accelerators in modern SoC devices
• Scripting, Linux development, and using development kits and sensors modules
• Define and implement embedded SW for interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, TCP/IP, UDP, etc.)
• Collaborate across Software, Hardware, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Operations
