Job summary

Enovix is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to lead technical engagements with defense, drone, robotics, and autonomous systems customers. This role bridges customer engineering and Enovix product, cell engineering, and manufacturing teams to translate operational needs into technical solutions.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with battery-powered platforms (UAVs, UAS payloads, robotics, aerospace) and strong systems engineering, troubleshooting, and cross-functional influence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5+ years in defense, drone/UAV, aerospace, battery technologies, autonomous systems, robotics, or power electronics.
• Strong systems thinking, troubleshooting, and customer-facing experience.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer technical engagements and serve as primary interface for defense and drone customers.
• Guide design-in activities from evaluation to production deployment.
• Conduct technical reviews with engineers, architects, and managers.
• Develop trusted advisor relationships with defense OEMs and integrators.
• Define battery characterization, validation, and qualification plans.
• Evaluate system-level performance including flight endurance and high-power operation.
• Lead root-cause analysis and cross-functional corrective actions.
• Gather customer requirements and feed back to Product Management and R&D.
• Contribute to application notes, guides, and customer training materials.
• Support strategic visits, workshops, and technical evaluations.
