Job summary
ON.energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Battery Systems, Controls & EMS Integration to provide technical leadership for utility-scale BESS projects supporting data centers and grid applications. Reporting to the Chief Electrical Engineer, you will lead battery sizing, evaluate BESS technologies, validate inverter/PCS performance, and drive EMS/Plant Controller integration.

Qualifications
- 8+ years of electrical engineering experience focused on battery systems and BESS integration.
- Deep knowledge of battery sizing, lifecycle modeling, and EMS/Plant Controller integration.
- Experience with PSCAD and MATLAB for vendor model review and validation.
- Strong communication to coordinate with EMS vendors and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead battery sizing and lifecycle modeling efforts for utility-scale projects.
- Review and validate BESS vendor models and inverter/PCS performance.
- Drive EMS and Plant Controller integration and SCADA configuration.
- Validate controls strategy and perform operational analytics.
- Collaborate using Python, VS Code, Jupyter Notebooks, and Git.
