Job summary
ON.energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design, validation, and optimization of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System projects for data centers and critical facilities. You will collaborate with EMS, Plant Controllers, and SCADA teams to ensure reliable, high-performing energy storage solutions.
Minimum 8+ years of electrical engineering experience with batteries, BESS vendor evaluation, inverter/PCS validation, and EMS integration.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of electrical engineering experience focused on battery systems, BESS vendor evaluation, inverter/PCS performance validation, and EMS/Plant Controller integration.
- Deep knowledge of battery sizing, lifecycle modeling, controls strategy validation, and BESS vendor modeling in utility-scale energy storage environments, including PSCAD and MATLAB.
- Experience leading EMS and Plant Controller integration, including SCADA configuration and operational optimization for BESS deployments.
- Working knowledge of Python, VS Code, Jupyter Notebooks, and Git for analysis and analytics.
- Strong communication with EMS vendors, controls engineers, and cross-functional teams.
