Job summary

Proper Voltage in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer to own battery module and pack design from concept through production. You will drive design decisions independently, lead thermal and structural analysis efforts, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams to ship real hardware.

Deep experience with thermal analysis and simulation is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field).
• 5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience in battery/EV/energy storage hardware.
• Expert-level 3D CAD skills (Onshape, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
• Strong GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and DFM principles.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design of battery modules and packs end-to-end.
• Lead thermal analysis, simulations, and post-processing.
• Define mechanical interfaces and drive design reviews with electrical and controls teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and review test reports and documentation.
