Job summary

Kelso Building Services (KBS) in Denver, CO is seeking a Senior BAS Technician to service and optimize building automation systems across the Denver metro area. You will troubleshoot BAS control systems, coordinate with customers, and mentor junior technicians while leveraging remote monitoring capabilities.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, commissioning support, system upgrades, energy optimization initiatives, and strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of BAS service experience.
• Strong HVAC troubleshooting knowledge.
• Experience reading control drawings and sequences of operation.
• Experience commissioning and servicing DDC systems.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background screening and drug testing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair BAS control systems and field devices.
• Diagnose HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and service agreement inspections.
• Support controller replacements, upgrades, migrations, and system expansions.
• Validate sequences of operation and optimize system performance.
• Assist with commissioning, retro-commissioning, and startup activities.
• Complete point-to-point verification and functional performance testing.
• Maintain accurate documentation and system backups.
• Support enterprise and site-level building automation platforms.
• Assist customers with energy optimization initiatives.
• Coordinate with project managers, service managers, and sales teams.
• Mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
