Job summary

Kelso Building Services (KBS) in Denver, CO is seeking a Sr. BAS/HVAC Controls Technician to service and optimize building automation systems across commercial, healthcare, education, and industrial facilities.

You will troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade BAS components while delivering exceptional customer support. This role blends field work with remote diagnostics via the DOC, mentoring junior technicians, and coordinating with project and service teams to improve energy performance and

Qualifications

• 3+ years of BAS service experience.
• Strong HVAC troubleshooting knowledge.
• Experience reading control drawings and sequences of operation.
• Experience commissioning and servicing DDC systems.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background screening and drug testing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair BAS control systems and field devices.
• Diagnose HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and service agreement inspections.
• Support controller replacements, upgrades, migrations, and system expansions.
• Validate sequences of operation and optimize system performance.
• Assist with commissioning, retro-commissioning, and startup activities.
• Complete point-to-point verification and functional performance testing.
• Maintain accurate documentation and system backups.
