Job summary

Kelso Building Services (KBS) is seeking a Sr. Building Automation/HVAC Controls Technician to support and grow the Wasatch area BAS service business.

The role combines field service with remote diagnostics, analytics, and customer relationship management, including mentoring junior technicians. Responsibilities include troubleshooting BAS, diagnosing HVAC/controls issues, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting system migrations and expansions across commercial and mission-critical

Qualifications

• 3+ years of BAS service experience.
• Strong HVAC troubleshooting knowledge.
• Experience reading control drawings and sequences of operation.
• Experience commissioning and servicing DDC systems.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background screening and drug testing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair BAS control systems and field devices.
• Diagnose HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and service agreement inspections.
• Support controller replacements, upgrades, migrations, and system expansions.
• Validate sequences of operation and optimize system performance.
• Assist with commissioning, retro-commissioning, and startup activities.
• Complete point-to-point verification and functional performance testing.
• Maintain accurate documentation and system backups.
• Develop strong customer relationships and serve as primary technical contact.
