Job summary

Polsinelli PC is seeking an experienced paralegal to support bankruptcy matters across multiple offices. The role requires extensive CM/ECF e-filing, docket management, and strong case support for Chapter 11 matters.

The ideal candidate holds a Paralegal Certificate or related degree and brings 5+ years of sophisticated bankruptcy experience. It is a full-time, in-office position with standard hours and overtime when necessary, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate or related degree preferred.
• 5+ years of sophisticated bankruptcy experience.
• Billable requirement: 1600 hours per year.
• 5 days in-office.
• Start time for this role will be either 8:30 a.m. or 9:00 a.m. (Work day hours Monday to Thursday 7.75 hours and Friday 7.5 hours plus overtime when necessary.)

Responsibilities

• Extensive experience with e-filing within the Federal Courts, specifically with the U.S. Bankruptcy and the U.S. District Courts including filing through CM/ECF and compliance with applicable filing and service requirements.
• Interpret and apply local court rules, practices and procedures while supporting attorneys with jurisdiction specific case requirements.
• Maintain, monitor and communicate court deadlines for assigned cases including complex Chapter 11 cases and take ownership of case calendars in conjunction with docketing department. Communicate with clerks office and court personnel regarding hearing dates and availability.
• Prepare and assist with the filing of notices, motions, applications, fee applications, retention applications, proofs of claim and other bankruptcy related pleadings and documents, including the preparation and organization of exhibits.
• Coordinate hearing logistics and prepare hearing materials, including hearing binders, exhibits, witness materials and related documents.
• Serve as the point of contact for creditor inquiries.
• Remain current in industry trends in Bankruptcy/Restructuring and the legal profession.
• Participate in case strategy meetings and provide substantive case management support throughout the lifecycle of Chapter 11 matters.
• Ensure expertise in technology relevant to the position; proactively use the most current technology to further teamwork, client service, and efficiency.
• Monitor case dockets and conduct PACER research to identify and obtain relevant pleadings, orders and other case information.
• Manage multiple complex assignments and competing deadlines while maintaining close attention to detail and providing timely status updates to attorneys and other team members.
• Acquire, organize, review, analyze and summarize documents, pleadings and other case materials.
• Anticipate project and case needs, identify potential issues and recommend practical solutions to support attorneys and internal and external clients.
• Effectively set priorities, provide timely updates, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects.
• Accurately record billable and nonbillable time in accordance with firm requirements.
