Job summary

Polsinelli PC is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join its bankruptcy practice. The role involves extensive e-filing in federal courts, docketing, and supporting attorneys across several offices including Los Angeles.

You will manage complex Chapter 11 matters, prepare filings, and coordinate hearings with senior attorneys. The ideal candidate has a Paralegal Certificate or related degree and at least 5 years of sophisticated bankruptcy experience, with a 1600-hour annual billable requirement

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate or related degree preferred.
• 5+ years of sophisticated bankruptcy experience.
• Billable requirement: 1600 hours per year.
• 5 days in-office.
• Start time for this role will be either 8:30 a.m. or 9:00 a.m. (Work day hours Monday to Thursday 7.75 hours and Friday 7.5 hours plus overtime when necessary.)

Responsibilities

• Extensive experience with e-filing within the Federal Courts, including CM/ECF.
• Interpret and apply local court rules and procedures in bankruptcy matters.
• Maintain, monitor and communicate court deadlines and docketing.
• Prepare and assist with filings of notices, motions, proofs of claim, and related documents.
• Coordinate hearing logistics and prepare hearing materials.
• Serve as the point of contact for creditor inquiries.
• Stay current in bankruptcy/ restructuring industry trends.
• Provide substantive case management support throughout Chapter 11 matters.
• Use current technology to improve teamwork and client service.
• Monitor case dockets and perform PACER research for relevant pleadings.
