Job summary

Synovus Bank is seeking an Operations Recon Specialist to perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts. The role requires handling General Ledger posting, exception research, and adherence to SLAs in a busy banking operations environment.

You will act as a subject-matter expert, train junior staff, and drive process improvements while maintaining risk controls and compliance. This onsite role supports locations including Columbus, Birmingham, Roswell, and more.

Qualifications

• Four years of accounting experience in a banking operations environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent coursework/experience.
• Stand or Walk Regularly; communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bank account reconciliations for multiple accounts daily and monthly.
• Research account exceptions and ensure timely resolution per SLAs.
• Manage general ledger postings and nonmonetary transactions across systems.
• Serve as escalation point and mentor for team members; provide training as needed.
• Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and client service.
