Job summary

Busey Bank is seeking an Exception Item Specialist to support Retail, Commercial, Treasury Management, and Wealth clients. You will handle NSF decisions, research chargebacks, reconcile ledgers, and monitor cash processes with vendor partners while mitigating risk.

Strong math, research, and Excel skills are essential. Requires a high school diploma with preferred college degree and 3+ years banking experience in a research-oriented role.

Qualifications

• Understanding of electronic funds transfer systems and NACHA/Reg E rules.
• Ability to perform higher math functions and bank accounting.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with banking research roles (3+ years).

Responsibilities

• Understand loan policies to process NSF decisions and customer correspondence.
• Manage commercial cash ordering and cash vault monitoring with vendor partners.
• Research and process chargebacks; reconcile General Ledger accounts to SLA.
• Process foreign check collections and image, entry corrections, and balancing of deposits.
