Job summary

Toyota North America in Plano, TX, seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Backup Infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance of enterprise backup systems. You will manage AWS Backups, NetBackup, Cohesity, and database backups; you will build automation and define SLIs/SLOs for resiliency.

Role requires 5+ years in production backup environments, strong scripting and observability skills, and collaboration across teams to strengthen DR readiness and incident response.

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing enterprise backup infrastructures in production.
• Experience with AWS Backups, NetBackup and Cohesity.
• Strong background in backup, restore, and recovery testing.
• Proficient in observability and monitoring (e.g., Dynatrace, CloudWatch).
• Proven scripting skills for automation (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Experience designing SLIs/SLOs and incident response processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain enterprise backup infrastructure (AWS, NetBackup, Cohesity, DB backups).
• Own reliability of daily backups and restores; improve performance.
• Automate backup/restore workflows and reporting for audits.
• Implement observability and alerting to detect issues early.
• Support incident response, postmortems, and on-call rotations.
• Collaborate on capacity planning, DR testing, and resilience initiatives.
