Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Lead Backend Developer to design, build, and operate scalable backend platform capabilities for high-throughput workloads.

The role emphasizes distributed systems, platform engineering, and mentoring engineers across multiple teams, with a remote-first setup across the U.S. This position requires a strong background in backend languages and modern data architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Six+ years of backend or platform engineering experience.
• Proven track record building and operating internal platforms.
• Experience designing distributed systems with consistency, availability, latency, and failure-mode considerations.
• Advanced proficiency in Java, Go, Scala, Rust, or modern C++.
• Deep understanding of high-throughput messaging, streaming, and event-driven architectures (Kafka/Pulsar/NATS).
• Experience mentoring engineers and shaping engineering culture.
• Strong communication and ability to author crisp technical design documents.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate foundational platforms and shared services used by multiple engineering teams.
• Develop backend platform capabilities (request routing, traffic management, data fan-out, caching, asynchronous jobs, durable event processing).
• Lead multi-quarter platform initiatives and manage stakeholder decisions.
• Contribute to platform APIs with backward compatibility and clear versioning.
